Caribana Shooting Victim - Kevin Murray

Kevin Murray was considered a troubled man. A man of the system that had a list of gun charges, convictions etc beginning in his young years. Police say “Man killed by Toronto police had a fondness for guns and gunplay”.Police confirmed he is the same man back in 2003 that was arrested by Toronto Police after a struggle during which he reached for a loaded gun at his feet. At only 22, he showed his love for weapons and got charges such as drug trafficking, got a 10 year firearm ban.

However he was one of the young men that jail just could not rehabilitate. He constantly received light sentences. One incident, he was arrested ten days after his release and charged with assault with a weapon and threatening but got bail. Then arrested again after residents in Malvern saw him strolling around with a pistol in his hand.

Kevin was listed as one of the most dangerous men in Toronto. It now is being said he was at the parade just robbing onlookers in the crowd. When he realized he was being taped, he fired shots at the man taping and that is when the police became involved. Officers are still waiting for results to see whose gun hurt the young woman in her back and grazed the young man in his eye brow.

I feel sorry for his family to have to go through this but in the end do you mourn a man like Kevin Murray. A man that didn’t value his own life much less, a man that never wanted to change, a man that wanted to live by the gun. Do we mourn him?

Caught - Jerome Derby

He was arrested in the Hamilton area. Weeks prior to the shooting of Grant, Jerome lost his brother to gun violence in the Regent park area after he was ambushed coming out of an elevator.

Unfortunately 3 people have been rushed to the hospital following a shooting along the Caribana route. Details are still vague however the police are involved in the shooting and the SIU is now involved. A man and woman were rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. The third victim suffered eye injuries, just a graze to the eye-brow.

BBMers have photos circulating around BBM with pics of the shooting. More details to come.

Menace to Society - Eric Carty

The name Eric Carty (left) came to light in 2009 in relation to the murder of Kirk Matthews, 24 years of age . Matthews was shot to death in December 2009 near Islington and Steeles. Three days after the murder of Matthews police were on the hunt for Eric Carty.

This year in January 2011, Eric was caught by Peel police and charged with first degree murder, but it doesn't end there. November 2010, a murder took place in a Markha
m home where Bich-Ha Pan, 53 (below) who was gunned down Nov. 8 inside her Helen Avenue home in Markham. Her husband was also shot and their daughter claims to have been tied up in another room.

Well the daughter ended up setting up the whole thing to harm her parents, probably for insurance money and guess WHAT? Eric was involved. YES... Eric Carty who was already serving his time for the murder of Kirk Matthews in Milton at Maplehurst has now has been charged once again with first-degree murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the Markham incident. David Mylvaganam, 22, of Toronto was also
charged along with Daniel Chi-Kwong Wong, 25 and the daughter Jennifer.

Eric will have a couple of trials coming up soon, you know he'll plead not guilty but it's just sad this man can so freely kill and harm people and took so long to
find him and get him off the streets. Who harboured this kind of man? Thank God this man is off the street, Toronto is a lot safer without him running around.

Caught-Joshua David Warner

Here is how this fool was caught after a year manhunt went down searching for this 22 year old boy. Joshua Warner was wanted for first degree murder and various other offences, after an altercation that took place in Hamilton at a party back in March 2010. Shot were fired supposedly because R&B music was being played at the party. Guns were drawn and bullets flew. In the end,Brandon Winston Musgrave, 18 was shot and taken off life support days later due to injuries sustained.

The second suspect in the murder was found a month later however Joshua was still on the run. Soon after the murder, investigators received information that Warner was in Venezuela. After more tips, the search was narrowed down to Guyana. And how is that? The dummy went to Guyana and got charged for possession of marijuana on April 8, 2011. Hamilton Police obtained help from the Canadian High Commission in Guyana to obtain his extradition from the country's capital.

Police say he look relieved to be caught. Looks like life on the run and living in Guyana was difficult for him. Could also be his conscious from the sin he has committed.

Murder Trial Under-way - Jonathan Chambers

Jonathan Chambers lost his life after a drug deal went bad, wrong, and way over his head. Chambers was shot to death back in March 2007 and a deal had to be reached with one of his killers in regards to his murder. Chambers was forced to go to his knees as he was shot 5 times in the back of his head.

Andrew Turner, 33, of Brampton, was on trial for the kidnapping and first-degree murder of Jonathan Chambers, 21, but he instead pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. Turner was sentenced to 11 years in prison minus three years for time already spent in custody, credited on a two-for-one basis, which leaves him with five years left to serve. He is likely, however, to get out on parole in two years.

Court heard Turner and his alleged accomplice, Lenworth Spence, wanted to “teach a lesson” after two of Chambers’ friends paid for $50,000 worth of cocaine with fake money.

Lenworth Spence, 31, who is facing kidnapping and first-degree murder is now waiting to see his fate. So far, four of the men who “went along for the drive,” have pleaded guilty to manslaughter or conspiracy to murder and three have testified against Spence.

This young boy may have chosen the wrong path in life when it comes to drug dealing however Chambers was around people he trusted. His own friends set him up and even was involved in his murder. These young men need to make better decisions, sometimes the game is just a little too big for them.

Lenworth's verdict should be released by Friday.

Trial Underway - Simeon Peter

Warren Abbey, supposedly part of the Malvern Crew is now on trial for the murder of Simeon Peter (left) who was shot and killed back in Jan 2004 because he was mistaken as a member of a rival gang. It was assumed that Peter was one of the rival gang members from Galloway terrorizing Malvern back in 2003-2004. Abbey also assumed that Peter was one of several youth that robbed him days earlier. He has pleaded not guilty.

It's alleged that Peter was spotted by two of Abbey's friends but they had no guns so they picked up Abbey and drove to a friends house in Ajax. Afterwards Abbey followed Peter who was walking a female home in the Morningside and Sheppard area. As they walked, Peter was shot hit in the neck, chest, knee and hip.
The female was too scared to identify the shooter however Abbey supposedly confessed to associates that he killed Peter. This a retrial for Warren Abbey who a judge agreed with the defence that a tear drop tattoo affected people views of the accused. The trial continues.

Police Name Suspect in 2007 Murder

I'll never forget this shooting. A young 16 year old Keyon Campbell (RIGHT) was gunned down right in 2007 in front of his home in Malvern when he ran outside to warm up his mothers vehicle. Campbell wasn't known to be involved with guns or gangs. Police at first thought it was a case of mistaken identity however police are now saying the victim's friend and/or Campbell were the actual target due to an ongoing dispute with the suspect, Pierre Oliver Ellis (LEFT).

Pierre Ellis was actually good friends with Keyon Campbell. Ellis, a local rapper that goes by the name Capitol P claims to have loved his friend and would never kill him in various rap songs. He said he treated Campbell better than his own brother. He's all over the GTA however police can't seem to get a hold of him. Now 23 years of age, Ellis is described by police as "A very dangerous individual". He has many videos on Youtube and Myspace showing off his rap skills.

RIP - Walter Trevor Junior Stewart

Another man lost his life very young to a bullet 7 years ago at the age of 28. A son, a brother, a father that died too soon but lived a fast lifestyle that may have caused his demise.

Walter decided that selling drugs was the way to make fast and easy money. Stewarts friend says Stewart had it all, the money, the cars and even the girls, and with all of that comes the haters. On December 27, 2003 on Bleecker Street gunshots rang out and Stewart was found laying face down on the sidewalk. A second suspect supposedly was struck by a stray bullet in the stomach, he survived however Stewart died. The cause of death was gunshot wounds to the body.

A friend reports that the night he passed, he didn't drive his car, which was odd. He took a taxi from Jungle to Bleecker, clearly he was called by someone he trusted to meet at 4 in the morning. The cab dropped him off not sensing any tension with the men Stewart spoke to before paying him. The killing was "intentional" the friend says. The man that was shot in the stomach knows who the shooter is. 7 years later, Stewarts killer still has not been caught, no leads or suspects have come up.

The fast life isn't always that good. His life of course should not be glorified but hopefully the young men who live this lifestyle and are so quick to trust that right hand man of theirs, think about possible consequences. It doesn't always end right.

RIP - McFrinn Paddy

He escaped death once but unfortunately his life came to an end on September 23, 2009 at the tender age of 20 years old.

Paddy survived a gunshot wound to the chest when him and several of his friends were injured in a driveby in Jamestown back in June 2007. His friend Jose Hierro Saez was killed in that shooting. He survived despite that fatal shot to his chest.

Mcfrinn resided in Brampton, Ontario but made a move to Alberta which many young Toronto men have been doing recently in the last few years.Paddy was slain inside a Fort McMurray apartment. A friend from Toronto stated the young man was a drug dealer who saw the oil sands city as a gold mine. It would later be found that at least 2 friends of Paddy would also be shot to death in the same Alberta area these men resided in.

No one has been arrested in his murder as of yet.
