Homicide #17-Ludlow Gillespie

This past Saturday, the latest murder victim became 25 year old Ludlow Gillespie. The suspect charged in his murder is his common-law wife, 24 year old Melissa Lewis. The picture on the left shows them during happier times.

The victim was driving around Windermere Ave from Lakeshore Blvd when both the victim and suspect got into an argument. Also in the vehicle was the suspects father and their 6 year old daughter. Lewis stabbed Gillespie in the neck and he came out of the vehicle and collapsed on the road. The grandfather picked up the child who was located by police afterwards. Police now want to speak with the grandfather who has now disappeared.

Police are going off of pretty much what the 6 year old child is telling them.

Police have confirmed this relationship had a bad history in regards to domestic violence.

Couple of Shootings

Couple of shootings in the last hours.

First one was last night in North York around VP and York Mills at 6pm last night. A 26 year old man was shot in the stomach and police are said to be looking for a male suspect seen heading west. The 26 year old man's injuries are said to be life-threatening.

Multiples shots were fired in the home on Boon Ave, and one person was hit by gunfire and has been rushed to the hospital. Residents in the area say this is a case of bad blood between neighbours. Supposedly the victim is in his 50s and the shooter is in his 70s.

Defendant in Murder Trial Dies

A 24-year old defendant standing trial for the murder of a fellow friend died suddenly yesterday while awaiting his verdict for the murder of Jeremy Paul, 18 (pictured). Emmanuel Osae died after being taken from the Don Jail yesterday.
It isn't clear on how he died but the lawyer for Osae emotionally thanked jurors and other legal participants for the time put into the case. Paul was shot in the head back in April 2007 after leaving a west end high school with his girlfriend. The prosecutors alleged that Osae was one of the two masked men who threw Paul against a wall and shot him.

What's going on with the Don Jail? A lot of inmates are dying over there. This is really a sad case because a young man never got to learn his fate and another family will never see justice served if this is the actual man that did kill Jeremy Paul.

Police had to pull out their weapon on the boy when he attempted to take it out of his waistband. When police warned him to drop the weapon, he threw it over a fence. Police believe the same boy was responsible for a store robbery the day before. He is now facing 19 charges.

Homicide #16-Devonte Gondwe-Prosper

A 15 year old boy, Devonte Gondwe-Prosper (left) answered a knock at his front door only to be shot in the face and killed by his assailant who has now been identified as Sheronnie Thomas, 18 (bottom picture) The shooting occurred in the early morning hours on Monday in the Keele and Eglinton area above a record store.

Police state the victim was very well known to police and supposedly lived a "high risk lifestyle". It's sad at 15, a boy is already living the kind of lifestyle that can cause him to lose his life. This is the second shooting of a teenager in the last 2 weeks. A 17 year old was also shot and killed on May 3. The victims continue to get younger and younger.

Police have now confirmed this is not gang-related as the victim knew his attacker. They clearly had some kind of dispute. Police attempted to raid the home of Thomas last night however he managed to get away. He turned himself into police today. Gotta love the high school pic.

R.I.P Adrian

A year ago in May 2009 14 year-old Adrian Johnston would become a victim of many shootings that began taking place in the southwest end of the city.

One year later, his killer is still walking the streets and justice has not been served. Adrian, was gunned down in a hydro field off Scarlett Rd. north of St. Clair Ave. W. a year ago. There was fear of a violent conflict between two rival gangs, the 5 Point Generalz and the Gatorz, that caught victims in the middle.

Again we have mothers crying because these young black men are being gunned down and there's just no answers. The mothers of Adrian and Jarvis St. Remy continue to remember the young men the raised to be gentleman and celebrate with friends, families and strangers two lives cut too short. Vigils held these past few days reflected on the life of these young men gone too soon. As the days get harder for them not having answers, they will continue to let their children's memories live on.

Police Raids!! What's the Point!!

So I'm sure everyone has read about the recent gang raid, "Project Corral". 1000 police officers executed 105 search warrants and came up with 10 gun and arrested about 70 people. People that they're used to seeing. People that were raided previously in Project XXX in 2006.

So the question is, do these raid really work? What's the point? I mean police are stating that the same people they previously arrested are popping up again and again in the system. The crime dies down for a minute, while they try to get bail but it continues.

The two gangs targeted were Five Point Generals (5PG) and Falstaff Crips, both based in northwest Toronto. Police intercepted phone calls amongst some of the top men in these gangs were they bragged about jewels, cars and money. Project Corral began last August, investigations involved the extensive use of wiretaps. Sounds like "The Wire". Police also state that there also some members that belong to the Shower Posse gang which originated in Jamaica and they worked all together I guess.

Raids are a waste of time and money in my opinion. I love to see my tax dollars go towards nothing. These men/women are arrested, get bail the next day, half the time their surety doesn't even have the money to cover them however they still get out. Within 1 hour, they break their condition, go back in and get bail once again. Our justice system is a joke and this all makes no sense.

Rewards for Falstaff Murders

Police have put up $50,000 to be awarded in the murders of both 19 year old Aeon Grant and 22 year old Tyrell Duffus who were both killed in a stairwell of an apartment building in Falstaff.

This money will be given to anyone who can provide evidence that will lead to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the homicides. Duffus was killed in Feb 2010 and Grant was killed in Dec 2009.

To this date, a picture of a man was provided in regards to Tyrell Duffus's case however he has not been identified. (see right side of blog). No information has been given on Grant's case.

S.I.U Investigating Their Own.... Again

The latest victim, I'll say of "police brutality" is 18 year old Junior Alexander Manon. Wednesday evening Manon attempted to run after police pulled over his vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Steeles Avenue West, at Founders Road. While running it is said that Manon collapsed and it is now being said that the 18-year old had a heart attack.

A friend of the teen told Thursday that he was driving behind Manon when he saw police pull over the vehicle. The friend said he kept driving but later received a call from a "panicked" passenger in Manon's car who said the teen got into a physical altercation.

Other information regarding Manon's death is now swirling all over the internet though. On the blog "Fouronesix", it is stated that Manon was lying in a pool of blood as confirmed by witnesses. Another witness states police beat up the young boy who was not resisting arrest. Seven cops beat him while he lay on the ground. So we'll have to see how this turns out. Clearly the police is hiding something, an 18 year old boy in my opinion doesn't just drop dead of an heart attack like that.
Junior Manon grew up in the Jane/Finch community and was hoping to change his life around, too bad this can no longer happen. R.I.P.

Homicide #14-Mitchell Leton Celise

Well summer has begun. For whatever reason, the heat bring out the worse in these little thugs that roam our streets. A young man, only 17 years old lost his life yesterday as he ran for his life to get away from the men who shot him. The shooting took place in a west-end neighbourhood near Vaughn and St. Clair.

A witness said to Toronto Star “I saw three guys on the sidewalk,”. “I told the police. I saw one of those guys running for safety and two guys running and I heard three shots, bam, bam, bam. Then one guys went straight north on Winona and another guy went another direction.”

The victim, Mitchell Celise suffered two gunshot wounds. Paramedics tried to save him but unfortunately it was too late. Witnesses report seeing a male armed with a handgun, described as having a dark−blackcomplexion, 15−18, 5'5"−5'8", with a slim build. He seen wearing a white, long−sleeve T−shirt, which was seized by police in the area. The suspect was seen fleeing wearing a white tanktop, jeans with white design/lettering on the rear pockets.
