Busy Weekend for Thugs

A few crimes took place this weekend.

A shooting at Trethewey Dr. Saturday evening left a 41 year old man with a bullet in his shoulder. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A security-camera in the apartment building caught images of the three suspects. The first suspect is described as male, black, six-foot in height, medium build, wearing a black shirt; the second as male, black, five-foot-ten, heavy build, wearing jeans; and the third as male, black, wearing a white mask.

In the Malvern area, on Friday two males and two females, all 16 years of age, were hit from behind by five male suspects. When the victims refused the demand for cash made by one of the suspects, a struggle ensued, during which one of the victims was stabbed in the stomach, police say. The injuries sustained were minor. Another robbery took place on Mclevin where a woman was robbed. Her purse containing her ID and jewelery were taken. In both cases, victims describe the five suspects as male, black, all between 18 to 19 years in age, and five-foot-five to five-foot-seven in height.

In the Morningside/Finch area on Saturday night a man was stabbed and sent to the hospital with non-threatening injuries.

Shooting on TTC Bus

A man was shot as he sat on a TTC bus today. The incident occured around 9:15pm in the Sheppard and Arleta area. Early reports indicate that a van pulled up beside a TTC vehicle. That’s when the shooter allegedly got out, opened fire, hopped back in, and took off.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with a bullet in his shoulder. His injuries are serious, but not life-threatening. Police say he was an innocent bystander and not targeted in the attack.
No description of the suspect is available as of yet.

Robbery and Extortion Gone Wrong

I forgot to post this story last week on these 5 idiots that ALLEGEDLY decided to kidnap and try to extort money from 3 individuals.

From Right to Left, Mark Anthony Barreiras, 29, Shawn Jermaine Tyrell, 24, Bryan Robson Taylor, 23, Patrick Anthony Anderson, 22, and a young female offender, all of no fixed address, are wanted in connection with the kidnapping of three men in two separate incidences on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The young offender cannot be named due to her age but it’s a young white female.

In the first kidnapping, a lone male victim was kidnapped at gunpoint in the Martin Grove Road/Rexdale Boulevard area at an unspecified time, but was able to escape.
In the second kidnapping, two more men were kidnapped at gunpoint from the same area - Martin Grove Road/Rexdale Boulevard. While one of those victims was able to jump from the kidnappers' vehicle in the Hwy. 401/Mavis Road area in Mississauga, the second was held overnight at an apartment in Toronto but let go after he promised he would bring money and drugs.

2 other people have been arrested in this case Dustin Brandejs, 22 and Amrinder Chhokar, 26. Today Bryan Thompson (Bottom Left) turned himself in.

TTC Shooting Trial

The young man's fate was decided yesterday by a jury of 12 and he was found NOT Guilty of attempted murder however he was found guilty of aggravated assault using a firearm. Because it was difficult to prove he intended to shoot the bus drive he was found not guilty on the bigger charge.

He shot the bus driver in the face as he supposedly tried to assist his friend from getting beaten down by a gang of people. Malcolm Chalmers, 23 has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and use of a firearm.

I can’t see this boy coming out innocent, his own girlfriend testified that he did admit to her about the shooting along with seeing the weapon. She never mentioned the confession until Toronto Police interrogated her for more than four hours on Jan. 21, 2008, two days after she had split up with Chalmers, her boyfriend of four years.

The shooting left the bus driver legally blind.

A jury now deciding whether Malcolm Chalmers blinded a TTC bus driver never heard that he was convicted as an accomplice in the shooting of another man who insulted his pal.
The gun also has a past. This is the same gun that was used to kill Kempton Howard and wound three others in Toronto. This boy is a clearly a modern day menace to society.

Charges Dropped in Jane Creba Trial

This past Monday, the Crown announced it would call no more evidence in the manslaughter case against Smith, 24, Vincent Davis, 29, Andre Thompson, 26, and his brother, Shaun Thompson, 24 so charges against all four individuals for the slaying of Jane Creba has been dropped.

Creba was shot as she walked among Boxing Day shoppers on Yonge St., two blocks north of the Eaton Centre. The 15-year-old girl was killed by a single .357-calibre bullet as a gun battle broke out between a man exiting the Foot Locker clothing store and at least two other shooters on the sidewalk. Six other people were injured. All but Shaun Thompson, who got bail after a year, have been in custody since they were charged. The three remain locked up on other matters. The four accused were standing outside the Foot Locker when the shooting broke out but none was alleged to have carried a gun.

The trial continues against three other adult accused: Louis Raphael Woodcock, 22, Tyshaun Barnett, 22, and Jeremiah Valentine, 27. They are all charged with second-degree murder in Creba's death and either attempted murder or aggravated assault in the wounding of six other people.

This girl’s death was a tragedy but I’m more appalled at the police just arresting whoever they can to close this case. I don’t think we’ll ever know who was the actual shooter of Jane Creba so will her family ever have full closure? I think not. Our tax dollars at work.

Homicide #53-Shane Kelter

He lived the fast life and it eventually caught up to him. Shane Kelter, 32 who actually lives in Vancouver but I’m assuming came to Toronto on business was killed in the downtown district this past Sunday as he hopped out of a limo and arrived at a condo on Bay St. Autopsy results show he died of multiple gun shot wounds to the chest. Witnesses could only give vague description of the shooter: a black male in dark clothing. Police have received no cooperation from the people who were out with Kelter.

Kelter was known to Vancouver police and had faced "the full spectrum" of charges. Kelter was one of six Canadians from Vancouver and Toronto indicted in the U.S. by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Kelter was accused of overseeing drug smuggling between the U.S. and Canada. He and 17 others are alleged to have moved ecstasy, cocaine and methamphetamine along the West Coast. A warrant was issued for his arrest in California, but extradition talks were still ongoing between American and Canadian authorities, said a spokesperson from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
