Homicide #28 - Kristian Thanapalan
22 year old Kristian Thanapalan was just trying to play a game of volleyball around when a group of men decided to take his life.
Thanapalan had been out with five friends playing volleyball around Kennedy and 401 when 15-20 men playing either baseball or cricket felt the need to cause trouble. The lights went out between 11 and 11:30pm. Both games ended and both groups moved to the parking lot.
Words were then exchanged in the parking lot. Kristian and his friends would then be surrounded by at least 6 men, armed with weapons including baseball bats, cricket bats, and beers. At 12:15am and Saturday morning police found Thanapalan collapsed on the road. He died later in hospital from blunt force trauma to the head.
Police have not provided a description of the suspects as of yet, but are asking anyone that may have been in the area, to contact police. Another life lost so senselessly.
